Conditions · Post-Surgical Recovery
Support healing after surgery with medical-grade light.
Photobiomodulation is used to reduce post-operative swelling, ease scar formation and support tissue repair, without drugs or downtime.

The science
Why light helps after surgery
Surgery triggers inflammation, disrupts circulation and stresses the tissues around the surgical site. 660nm and 808nm light is absorbed by mitochondria in skin, fascia, muscle and nerve, boosting ATP and supporting the repair processes that drive good recovery.
The GigaLaser's hands-free 500cm² head covers an entire surgical field, from a knee or shoulder to an abdominal or lower back region, in a single comfortable session.

FAQ
Post-surgical recovery & photobiomodulation
Can photobiomodulation help after surgery?+
Yes. Red and near-infrared light is used to support wound healing, reduce swelling, ease scar formation and calm post-operative inflammation. It is non-invasive and drug-free.
When can I start after surgery?+
Timing depends on the procedure and your surgeon's guidance. Many clients start once wounds are closed and sutures or dressings allow, often within 1 to 3 weeks post-op.
What kinds of surgery are supported?+
Orthopaedic surgery (knee, hip, shoulder), spinal surgery, laparoscopic and gynaecological procedures, C-sections, abdominal surgery and cosmetic surgery recovery are all commonly supported.
Will it interfere with my medication?+
No. Photobiomodulation is drug-free and can be used alongside pain medication, antibiotics and blood thinners. Your practitioner will still review your medications and post-op plan.
How many sessions are typical?+
An initial course of 8 to 12 sessions in the first weeks after surgery is common, with follow-up sessions tapered as you progress.
